This book is one of ther recent Springer-Verlag series of solutions manuals to textbooks. The manuals in this series have developed a reputation for being so complete that the actual textbook isn’t required. I have not actually seen the associated textbook “Sampling Methods” by Ardilly and Tille, and indeed I am not even sure it is available in English. But this solutions manual is available in English and I used it successfully as an extra resource for a graduate course in Survey Sampling Theory this past winter 2008. I am giving this book four stars, and I rarely give five, so I highly recommend it as an extra for a Sampling Course. You are bound to find a worked example in it that will help you to solve a few tough problems.
