His parents must be proud of him. Now that Harvard has unzipped some of the daunting financial restrictions for entry, perhaps we will see the birth of a new generation of deeper thinkers.

delivered promptly but the book is not what i thought it would be, it is very satirical to the point of annoyance

  3. I thought this might be a fun read but it turns out that it’s just the author trying to be flip and compassionate at the same time. It doesn’t work. Peter Sagal takes a look (with his wife in tow on some occasions!) at “swinging”, strip bars and the porn industry. He take a quick peek at over eating and gambling but his hear really isn’t in it. He likes the sex stuff…and who wouldn’t?

It was a quick and easy read and if you’ve ever been interested in the “behind the scenes” look at the sex industry, this is the book for you. Otherwise save your money and get something good to read.

Peter Sagal amuses himself more than he does the reader. The subjects are interesting, however his content and snarky comments are not. This is not the humor of Wait Wait… as some may think. The humor of his weekly NPR show is far above the humor of this book. If you want NPR-type of of humor, stick with David Sedaris.

God, what a great excuse to go out and have some fun. “Honey, I am writing a book on Vice. Need to do some research. Be back in a bit.” (To be fair, Sagal does bring his wife to Alinea and a swingers party in the name of research, so the fun was had together.)

This is a great read. Everything you expect from Sagal. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 just because if there is a Book of Vice, it might need to go a little farther… just over the line. This is a exploration of the virtues of vice, as well as our (the authors) reaction to vice.

    A joy. Buy it.
